All this talk about Climate Change but no one mentioning that other C word.
It's one thing for us to swap from plastic coffee cups, give up cheeseburgers or switch to a hybrid car and I am totally here for people making simple changes to their lifestyles and doing what they can. But the fact remains, Capitalism IS killing the planet.
FACT
Our lives are entirely dependent on complex natural systems: the atmosphere, ocean currents, soil. An entire web of life spun by this planet we call home
TRUTH
We have supported the destruction of our life-giving planet by allowing the uber-rich and powerful corporations to go un-checked and undermine political equality
WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?
We must demand systemic change. Environmental protest groups and global uprisings like @fridaysforfuture, @extinctionrebellion or @gndrising have grasped this fundamental truth. Public pressure is the key to real change. We need to be disobedient.
Here at @foreverandgreen_ , we are choosing to be disruptive too and what better time than in the run-up to the big sales weekend. Yes, we are a shop and yes, we want to encourage people to be buy from us over others, but we won't be participating in Black Friday - - or dressing it up as 'Green Friday' either! (Hello #greenwashing we see you)
